About Hexieval
Hexieval is a real-time tactics game on a hex grid.
You and your opponent move at the same time.
Every order costs action points, and they refill slowly.
So the skill is choosing what to do, not clicking fast.
Destroy the enemy base to win. A match takes a few minutes.
How to play
A match takes a few minutes. Here is all you need to start.
Pick a Marshal. Each Marshal has a race and a faction. They decide its unit types. Change your Marshal with the Marshal button before the match starts.
Choose units to bring. A Marshal brings 8 of its 12 or 13 unit types. Choose them with Edit, beside Units, before placing your squad.
Place your squad. Pick a unit from the tray, then click a lit hex near your base. Keep going until your points run out.
Press Start match. The match begins when both sides are ready.
Give orders. Click one of your units. Click a hex to move it there. For its other actions, press Q, W, E… and click a target hex.
Spend your AP well. Every order costs action points (AP), shown at the top. They refill slowly, so pick the orders that matter.
Step out of the way. Attacks take a moment to land. A red area means a hit is coming. Move out of it in time. A locked attack follows its unit. To dodge, be out of reach or sight when the lock ends. Shield points absorb damage before health.
Lines aim in twelve directions; shaded half hexes take half damage.
Some abilities pull or push allies as well as enemies.
Watch for ally locks and ground. Some abilities lock onto an ally. The tether reads AIDING. Some abilities leave ground behind. It can help allies or hinder enemies; some effects linger briefly after leaving.
Destroy the enemy base. Bring down the red base to win. Need more units? Click your own base to buy them.
In a match, press ? for every unit and key.

An economy of decisions
The action-point pool rate-limits choices, not clicks, so the skill is reading the board rather than clicking fast.
Ways to play
1v1 against a bot, a sandbox with both sides on one browser, or online on your own server. Bot-vs-bot is on the way.
Rules you can turn
The tunable values behind the Standard rules. Hand-edit any of them in a custom match and export the result as a ruleset.
Opponents you can tune
Choose a bot's brain and a named style, or open its dials and set them yourself — mid-match, without a restart.
